Greece is well known for traditional shoe constructing since the ancient years.  The economical crisis in 2009 destroyed many companies. The sector of shoe construction was one of them and shoemakers with expertise and huge working experience suddenly became unemployed (in the age of 35, 40 or 50 years old). Several shoemaking factories went to bankruptcy and no employer was able to take these people and give them again work and salary. That was the point when Manolis Tzeilanoglou created the company Mi-Chiamo.com based on the idea that the knowledge and experience of these workers has to be protected and their families has to get the proper support.  We asked from several of these people to come and present their working abilities and their work samples. After several comparisons on quality, strength and nice appearance we chose our cooperators and we created the team of Mi-Chiamo.com. We were and still are a traditional small shoemaking company which produces by hand, a limited number of shoe pairs in the highest quality. We will always keep our traditional existence and we will always produce handmade excellence with respect to our customers. Our base is in Athens and our store is only through internet at present(we work in a temporary address and copperate with external laboratories which are hosting us until we move to our new and permanent address). Because of our love for dance we chose the specification of dance shoes and we asked from dance teachers  and orthopedically doctors to give us their opinions for a very soft, easy to wear and health improving shoe for a dancer. We created a prototype of a shoe with additional pad layer for vibration absorption, seams which don’t hurt the feet and an internal layer of coating underneath the external leathers of the shoe, in order to let the skin breath properly and finally the best quality Itallian leather (best quality worldwide) to avoid any allergies to our customers plus to give a perfect final result. The cost of the construction seemed quite expensive to ourselves but the result of the out coming shoe overcame to our expectations. We gave several pairs for testing to dance schools in order to check if our shoes are satisfying for our future customers but then we realized that the specific shoes was the best attraction for the waiting list of customers which we already have. Unfortunately at present every order needs at least 3 – 4 weeks in order to become processed plus the time of shipping. That’s why we plan to extend our traditional company by adding more handmade shoe constructors to our partners which will be trained by us, in order to follow specific standards and highest quality materials which will be provided only by ourselves. We feel blessed that people already trusted us, even before we create a website.
